To create a neat look which maintains visual connection between elements and improves clarity.

Alignment accompanies simplicity, beauty, rythm and success.

Examples:

Numbers always to the right:

All numbers are right aligned for ease of mathematical calculations.
Rounding of values is easy when right aligned:
If the fields are mixed or numbers are not comparable don't use right alignment:

Numbers totaled:

In case of adding the decimals numbers they must be aligned by decimals.

Examples:

Bills with numbers aligned by decimals are easy to compute and understand.

Names to the left:

  • Names are aligned to the left to increase the readability.
  • By default text is aligned left and numbers are aligned right in excel for ease of identification between text and numbers.
