What are I/O devices?

I/O (Input/Output) devices are pieces of hardware which provides man to machine communication.
Input Devices:
Hardware devices used to provide data and control signals to a computer.
Examples:
  • Keyboard
  • Mouse
  • Joystick
  • Microphone
  • Scanner
  • Bar code Reader
  • Web Cam etc...

Output Devices:
The devices which are used to display the data to the user either in hard or soft copy.
Examples:
  • Monitors
  • Printers
  • Speakers
  • Plotters
  • Headphones
  • Projectors etc...

Both Input and Output Devices:
Devices that perform both input and output operations.
