Hosted/Cloud: No hardware installation required it can be cloud based.
They are basically of two types. They can be either on-premise or hosted.
Traditional PBX: The traditional PBX phone system technology is landline-based and relies on a physical PBX hardware box. Traditional landline phone lines enter the office and then connect to a PBX box. Then, the phone lines are distributed to each desk in office.
IP PBX: With an IP phone system all your internal telephony is routed through the existing LAN. This way a separate network for telephony is not required. It has lot many benefits than a traditional PBX.
