What is a typeface?

  • Typeface or font family is a set of one or more fonts that have common design features.
  • Each font has a specific size, weight, style, italicization, width etc...
  • They are catogorized into two: Serif  and  Sans Serif.
  • Sans Serif typefaces are Arial, Calibri, Verdana etc...
  • Serif typefaces are Times New Roman, Courier New, Cambria , Georgia etc... 

Selecting a typeface in word?

  • By default font family is set to Calibri. We can select our own typeface we like.
  • In the font section of home ribbon click on font family drop down.


How to change font family and fonts?

Select the text or paragraph you want to modify and right click, a popup of mini toolbar appears.
