What is a Frame?

What is frame rate?

  • It is the number of frames passed in a second.
  • It is measured in frames per second ( fps ).
  • 24 fps = 24 frames per second.

Why 24 frames per second?

  • A film/video is sequence of still images.
  • 24 fps was a standard and economical decision for films with sound.
  • It is accepted as a golden standard in film making.
  • 24 fps will sync well with sound and the video will not too slow or not too fast.
  • Usually films are shot and projected in 24 frames per second.
